The Advanced Standing Personal Support Worker (ASPSW) Diploma program is for students who are International Educated Nurses (IEN). Students must currently be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed/Registered Practical Nurse (LPN/RPN) with an active license, in good standing, with their country. All IEN’s must have their nursing education vetted with World Education Services to ensure their education meets or exceeds the RN/LPN/RN standards in Canada. All theory is online and students must attend a one day in-person lab. Students must reside in the province of New Brunswick while registered in their program.
There are a total of 8 modules in this program which include chapter exams and critical thinking scenarios. After the completion of the theory and the labs, students will qualify to write their PSW Certification exam, online with a virtual proctor. The student must obtain a score of 70% or more in order to pass the exam.
Upon successful completion of the PSW Certification exam, they will be issued their Personal Support Worker Diploma.
