Personal Support Worker (PSW) Online Program

OVERVIEW

The Personal Support Worker Diploma program is designed for those students who have never worked in the role of a Personal Support Worker (PSW) but would like to.  Students complete all of their theory online and access virtual online labs prior to their in-person labs.  Once the student completes their online theory, labs and practicum prerequisites, they will proceed onto their 15 consecutive weeks of practicum.  Students will be placed with their preceptor in a long term care facility in their community to obtain a minimum of 450 hours of clinical experience.
At ACAHS, we aim to empower individuals to make a significant impact in their community. In line with this, our Personal Support Worker (PSW) program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate assistance to those in need. Our program seeks to address the increasing demand for PSWs who can offer physical and emotional support to those in their care, respect their dignity, promote independence and improve quality of life. While being a PSW can be very rewarding, we acknowledge that our students also need leisure activities for relaxation. One option we recommend is checking out various online entertainment platforms, such as https://kaszino-world.com/top-10-rtp-kaszinok/. This website has a list of top-notch online casinos that exhibit high Return-to-Player (RTP) value – a term used in the gambling world to measure the likelihood of winning in terms of percentage. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, this site got you covered as it also offers recommendations, tips and guides to enjoy a full-fledged casino experience from the comfort of your home. Balancing your career training with leisure choices like these can help enhance your overall well-being, allowing you to serve others more effectively. ACAHs is dedicated to making each student’s journey worthwhile, not only academically but also holistically. After all, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of thriving in both their professional and personal lives.
Upon successful completion of the theory, lab and clinical practicum, students will qualify to write their PSW Certification exam, online with a virtual proctor. The student must obtain a score of 70% or more in order to pass the exam. Once the new graduate obtains their PSW Diploma, they will be qualified to work in all settings that employ PSW.
