Our Story

The Atlantic College of Applied Health Sciences (ACAHS) recognizes the need for and value of post-secondary education and training. ACAHS is committed to providing a quality education that is focused on providing the learner and employer with a program that meets their short and long term goals. ACAHS’s primary vision is to provide graduates who are educated, skilled and accountable to delivering quality healthcare. ACAHS is committed to removing barriers to education by creating a digital campus and classroom that is accessible, responsive and delivers quality curriculums.  We provide our students with lifetime access to Financial Literacy, ongoing employment connections and opportunities to bridge into additional programs.  We look forward to the opportunity of meeting the needs of our students and communities while also responding to changes and needs identified along the way.

1. Many programs are self paced (Asynchronous).
2. Curriculums typically contain and/or exceed the core competencies from all provinces (except Quebec) thereby allowing graduates the potential for employment in provinces outside of New Brunswick.
3. Distance based education. Our virtual classrooms give students the freedom to study from the comfort of their own home or other location options.
4. Clinical placements are provided in the students’ community.
5. Our PSW Nurse diploma program prepares graduates to work in all environments where PSW Nurses are employed.   (i.e. Home Care, Long Term Care, Clinics, Hospitals, etc.).
6. ACAHS is registered under the Private Occupational Training Act (POTA) and the New Brunswick International Student Program.
7. We have flexible start dates.
8. Textbooks &  learning resources are provided electronically or physically.  Students choose which modality works best for them.
9. Lab experiences are offered virtually and in person.   Come to our campus or ACAHS will go to the student.
10. Instructors are available Monday through Friday via email, slack, Zoom, Teams.  Students will receive a response in less than 24 hours.
11. Our staff have over 30 years of nursing experience in Canada and abroad as well as 10 years of teaching experience in the registered nursing field.
